THE BIG SQUEEZE BY STEVE TRIPP AND IAN PURDIE

The Big Squeeze.

You never thought you would see the dollar nose dive, to an all time low.
The rust on the locks of the stockmarket doors would be covered in rust’
when the prophets of doom say we told you so.

You used to hang around the welfare office, before it became a run down squat,
Oh and you used to complain about the terrible inbalance that existed between
the have’s and the have nots.

These days youv’e got nothing to complain about, these days youv’e got nothing at all.
In a tourist resort with a third world status all men are equal when their backs are to the wall.

The big squeeze, the big squeeze, big squeeze, big squeeze!

You always thought that you could beat the system, change it somehow from within.
But now I hear you say you have learned the hard way,
It’s out of control and nobody really wins.

Now you say it’s every man for himself, women and children first.

Ah! But standing now standing in silence in the soup kitchen line,
Youv’e got nothing to say about who’s better or worse.

These days youv’e got nothing to complain about, these days youv’e got nothing at all.
In a tourist resort with a third world status all me are equal when their backs are to the wall.

The big squeeze, the big squeeze, big squeeze, big squeeze!

The government,… proprietry limited, it’s not company policy to aim to please.

The corporation is a benevolent dictatorship and you are a begger on bended knees.

The big squeeze, it’s a social revolution, if we act right now we can save the day.

The big squeeze, it’s the plight of our people in a system that does not want to listen
to a single word you, have to say.

The big squeeze, the big squeeze, big squeeze, big squeeze!
