THE FREEDOM SONG BY STEVE TRIPP AND DENNIS AUBREY
The Freedom Song
It seems like only yesterday, you and
I were free'er, than the wind.
We were living for each moment, with a
passion, that grew stronger
with each note, in all the songs, that
we used to sing.
Those days turned into years, and our
dreams have, almost faded, out of view.
The past remains behind us, but those
songs can, still remind us
of all the crazy, crazy things, we
used to do.
So come on and sing me, a song about
freedom.
A happy song about the, good old days.
Ah! won't you just sing me, a song
about freedom.
Because those good old days, are not
too, ... far away.
I don't know about tomorrow, but I do
know, that I'm grateful, for today.
There's no time like the present, but
it won't take long before it slips away.
The freedom trail is calling me, and
I've got to go before my, time is through.
The past remains behind us, but those
songs can, still remind us
of all the crazy, crazy things ... we
used to do.
So come on and sing me, a song about
freedom ...
The children of tomorrow, are disheartened
by the world we left behind.
They’re restless for adventure, and
some have revolution, on their minds.
They’re just like us in younger days,
when we were out there chasing rainbows too
The past remains behind us, but those
songs can, still remind us
of all the crazy, crazy things, we
used to do.
So come on and sing me ... a song
about freedom ...
It seems like only yesterday, you and
I were free'er, than the wind.
Living for each moment, with a
passion, that grew stronger
with each note, in all the songs, we
used to sing.
So come on and sing me … a song about
freedom.
A happy song about the, good old days.
Ah! won't you just sing me, a song
about freedom.
Because those good old days are not
too ... far away.
